1996-1999 I worked on my doctoral thesis on Surface Femtochemistry (Fritz-Haber-Institut der Max-Planck Gesellschaft, Freie Universität Berlin): "Ultraschnelle Reaktionsdynamik an Oberflächen: Desorption und Oxidation von CO auf Ru(001) induziert durch Femtosekunden-Laserpulse" in the workgroup of Prof. Martin Wolf under supervision of Noble Laureate Prof. Gerhard Ertl (Co-Supervisor Prof. Dr. Ludger Wöste).
